About Us
Laguna Housing Development and Management Enterprise was the second Tribal Housing Authority to be incorporated in the US in 1963.
LHDME began serving the Pueblo of Laguna as a Tribally Designated Housing Entity (THDE) beginning in 1997. A THDE can receive grants and provide assistance under the NAHASDA (Native American Housing Assistance and Self-Determination Act) from HUD for affordable Tribal housing activities as a separate entity from the Tribe. LHDME offers housing-related programs which address the social, economic, health and welfare needs of the Pueblo. Housing opportunities are available to low-income individuals and families through managed housing stock which includes homeownership, rental units, and lease to purchase units. LHDME manages 79 rental units, 16 Rainbow rental units and 5 office buildings.
